The Marines have landed in Detroit!
Challenge
Help 700 Marines engage with thousands of spectators over 5 days. Set up included bringing in over 60 pieces of military equipment including tanks, ground artillery and landing the Marine Corps’ largest helicopter, the “Osprey”, in the heart of the city all while simultaneously setting up tenting infrastructure within a 24 hour window.
Solution
– 7 days of managing simultaneous events in multiple locations in the city
– 30 minutes of pyrotechnic and aircraft shows between international waters
– 6,000 square feet of tenting infrastructure
– Audio/Visual coverage over 1/4 mile of Detroit’s riverfront viewing area
The Corporate Production Services event management team acted as city liaison coordinator, audio/visual and event production lead, tenting and infrastructure partner and event services production supervisor for the week’s events, including static displays, MAGTF demonstrations, wreath laying ceremonies and other Marine Corps traditions.
Corporate Production Services successfully collaborated with multiple service event vendors, local businesses and city officials to execute multiple events and build out safe environments for the Marines to showcase their gear including an MV-22 Osprey and CH-53 Helicopter. As the chosen event management company, CPS embraced the vital roles and responsibilities throughout the week and was honored to support the United States Marine Corp in a successful event production.
Result
Creating timeless memories for Metro Detroit residents and providing the unique experience of connecting the American public with hundreds of Marines.
